The Canadian Red Cross (CRC) - a remarkable non-profit organization, provides assistance to individuals and communities in Canada and globally during challenging times, while also aiding them in boosting their resilience.
Participate in developing the People Services team schedule to ensure consistent orientations, trainings, access to tools, and shift handover; assist in setting up and daily maintenance of the welcome area and support scheduling, tracking, and organizing training events.
Meet and greet all new and returning team members on-site for ID verification and orientation scheduling; post personnel schedules, organizational charts, integration kits, and other essential response resources.
Review and maintain the daily schedule for accuracy, including reflecting days off, sick time, early departures, site changes, or team compositions.
Assist in handling internal inquiries from CRC staff or assigned partners through phone, email, or in-person; work on improving processes, communication tools, and service delivery continuously, and contribute to recruiting and engaging PS Emergency Operations team members.
Diploma or training in Human Resources Management, Volunteer Management, business, or a related field.
One (1) or more years of experience in Human Resources or business administration.
Proficiency in French & English is highly preferred.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Teams, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and Sharepoint (or similar collaboration tools and platforms).
Excellent planning, organizational, and administrative skills with a focus on accuracy and the ability to work independently and remotely within a cohesive team.
Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, willing to work non-traditional and extended hours on short notice, covering evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Frequent meetings, training sessions, or deployments (potentially overnight) may necessitate presence at CRC offices and off-site meeting venues.
Some tasks are carried out in a virtual office setting; therefore, candidates must have reliable access to a private workspace, computer, high-speed internet, and a telephone or be able to work from a CRC office if necessary.
Ability to excel in a rapid-paced, high-pressure environment, being on-call, working shifts, non-traditional hours often on short notice, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Frequent meetings, training sessions, or deployments (including overnight) could require attendance at CRC offices and off-site meeting locations.
Prior to assignment, health and safety protocols will be detailed should the role involve work at a response site.
For non-citizens or permanent residents of Canada, it's advisable to review visa status to confirm eligibility to work in the desired job.
Given our interaction and support for various individuals and communities, proficiency in English may be necessary for non-native English speakers applying for the role.
The official languages at the Canadian Red Cross are English and French; however, proficiency in one or more Indigenous languages or the ability to communicate and adapt within Indigenous practices is highly valued.
