Description

What you'll do:

Provide safe, courteous, efficient and customer-focused service in our Deli Department.

Responsible for the preparation of fresh deli items in accordance with predetermined Coop Fresh Department specs, standards and procedures. Responsible for measuring, combining and preparing ingredients using mixers, slicers, kitchen tools, heat sources, knives and/or equipment to prepare fresh items in a timely manner. Responsible for preparing, slicing, packaging, wrapping, displaying and pricing of deli products for sale to customers.
Performs opening and closing procedures as required and complies with additional direction from Management.
Displays signs appropriately, changes shelf tags as required and displays Manager's special.
Support Management by providing daily supervision to meet the standards set out by Discovery Coop, and to coordinate Team Members to follow to these objectives, policies and procedures.
Ensure all guests are provided with a prompt, professional, accurate, efficient and friendly service.
Performs general housekeeping duties to ensure all areas of responsibility are safe, organized, and clean. Maintains and ensures compliance with Discovery Coop standards, government food and sanitation, health and safety standards.
Perform other duties assigned.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Customer Service and:

Grade 12 or equivalent
Experience in deli preferred.
Cooperative retail experience is an asset.
Safe Food Handling Certificate will be required upon hire.
Must be comfortable working with different types of equipment such as scales, knives, pricing equipment, step ladders, etc.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, have good manual dexterity and lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to work regularly in cooler temperatures due to products in department.
You must be available for days, evenings and weekends
