Our Real Estate practice in Canada is part of a team of 500 dedicated real estate transaction and advisory professionals located around the globe.

These professionals help plan, execute and integrate their clients' transactions strategy effectively, both domestically and across global markets.

EY's Strategy and Transactions practice is currently looking for a Real Estate Associate to join our team in Toronto.

This is a unique opportunity to join a multi-faceted team of professionals that support our real estate advisory practice on engagements including but not limited to:


  • Strategic capital allocation and portfolio planning
  • Real estate development advisory services
  • Workplace and accommodation strategies
  • Operating model reviews and process enhancement
  • Investment attraction and business location services


Working on delivery of these real estate advisory solutions will require a mix of (1) strategic critical thinking, (2) deep real estate market knowledge and (3) understanding of the investment lifecycle including financial modelling skills.


Your key responsibilities:

Financial analysis:


  • Analysis and / or valuation of various types of real estate assets and portfolios in support of various types of engagements including core valuation, duediligence, portfolio analysis, strategic decision making, transactions, etc.
  • Development and maintenance of financial models, excel spreadsheets, real estate proformas

Market research and analytics:

  • Continuous review of Canadian real estate market trends and workplace strategy
  • Compiling and analysing relevant company and industry information, originating from a broad variety of sources (such as client data, financial databases, industry publications, financial statements and public disclosures)

Project management and strategic advisory:

  • Understanding a full real asset lifecycle and major implications across its various stages to advise clients on potential risks associated with assets and portfolios
  • Navigating complex stakeholder environments both a private and public sector clients / supporting stakeholder management
  • Helping to develop real estate decision making or asset management frameworks, strategies and mapping out processes
  • Presenting and articulating ideas in a thoughtful and logical manner, processing high volumes of ambiguous information and findings into concise reports and presentations
  • Participate in team problem solving efforts and offer innovative ideas to solve client issues

Teaming, reporting and business development:

  • Develop presentation materials, briefings, detailed business cases, reports and implementation documents
  • Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products. Actively expand consulting skills and professional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with clients
  • Manage creation of proposals, presentations and other clientfacing materials and deliverables
  • Support the team in business development and marketing initiatives across the country
  • Inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members,
