Warehouse Operations Supervisor - Hamilton, Canada - 3D Warehousing and Logistics
Description
We are looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager based in the Hamilton Region. The Operations Manager plays a key role in leading and supporting various operational activities in the warehouse. The Operations Manager reports directly to the President and Vice President.Key responsibilities in this role include:
- Lead daily warehousing operations to successfully meet targets while maintaining an exceptional level of safety and quality of service
- Proactively review inbound requests, outbound requests, and inventory in warehouse to ensure smooth operations
- Manage warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent damage and to achieve full optimization of the warehouse
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and tidy
- Supervise and provide leadership to the operating team and ensure that all tasks and reports are completed accurately and in a timely fashion
- Monitor and evaluate employee performance and provide support and coaching for staff development
- Train new employees on warehouse activities and procedures
- Ensure company goals and objectives are being met by each employee, and provide constructive feedback
- Review service failures to determine root causes, and implement strategies and solutions to improve processes and procedures, to mitigate future service failures and to increase effectiveness and efficiency
- Ensure KPI targets are met daily and that customer service is not compromised
- Manage budget to ensure profitability and sustainability of the warehouse
- Communicate with external stakeholders, including customers and carriers, as required
- Ensure all warehouse operations are conducted in accordance with company policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment in an engaged and collaborative culture
- Develop and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and best practice
- Other responsibilities as assigned by upper management
Qualifications and skills in this role include:
- Previous experience in the steel industry or with heavy commercial goods is considered an asset
- Previous experience or qualification in the handling of dangerous goods is considered an asset
- Previous experience operating heavy forklifts is considered an asset

$55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
