Reporting to the Office Manager, the Digital Content Specialist is an integral part of the Faculty of Applied Health and Community Studies (FAHCS) and is responsible for creating, writing, editing, updating, improving, and maintaining high-quality content that can be placed across different web and other digital communication properties.

This includes working with Digital Marketing in-house to produce visually striking and user-friendly digital content in a content management system(s); tracking and implementing FAHCS communications; and collaborating with marketing, public relations and communication and staff to execute multi-channel digital campaigns.

The Digital Content Specialist will also gather and monitor metrics to identify content quality, performance, and accessibility compliance, make recommendations, and devise digital content enhancement strategies.

What You'll be Doing

Serving as an internal client contact for content editing and web editing support including;
Working as an integral member of the FAHCS team by creating and/or acquiring content to be distributed via various digital channels and online communications media;
Producing and/or coordinating the design and production of digital assets - including web copy, graphics, video and photographic assets - for strategic use in the FAHCS digital communication channels;
Working with Digital Strategy Team to analyze site usage statistics and content quality to maximize information delivery, enhance usability & accuracy of content, comply with required accessibility standards and increase audience engagement;
Coordinating and maintaining a master web content calendar for key digital properties in terms of updating, maintaining and refreshing content;
Writing and producing multimedia features and articles that support Faculty's engagement and recruitment efforts in collaboration with members of the Marketing team, OTR and other institutional partners;
Recommending opportunities for improving user experience, usability and audience conversions;
Performing other related duties as assigned.

3-year diploma/degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or Interactive Multimedia, along with 1-2 years experience working in content production, web development or information architecture.

Proven content marketing, web design and development experience, including writing for web style guides and for higher education institutions.


A high degree of technical competency and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Illustrator, Google Analytics and other web analytics software.

Excellent ability to deliver content tactics that drive business results.

Monday - Thursday; 9:00am - 3:00pm, 8:30am - 2:30pm or 8:00am - 2:00pm (schedule to be confirmed upon hire).
