*Join Central 1's vibrant External Reporting and Accounting Advisory Team on an exciting journey As the Director of External Reporting and Accounting Advisory, you'll lead and be part of a team of skilled professionals in crafting captivating narratives of our financial journey. Through your expertise, you'll produce compelling quarterly and annual reports, along with Management's Discussion and Analysis (MD&A), to captivate our external stakeholders. But it doesn't end there—your role extends to ensuring precise regulatory filings and offering expert accounting insights to propel Central 1 forward. Managing the preparation and delivery of Central 1's quarterly and annual financial statements and reports for external filing. This involves carefully reviewing sections from other teams to ensure they are accurate and high-quality
Preparing and/or review complex accounting memorandums under IFRS for Central 1's auditors.
Providing technical accounting support under IFRS, including setting accounting policies, advising on new products and contracts, and monitoring changes in accounting standards.
Build trust and credibility with the Finance Leadership team, business units, and senior leadership to establish strong relationshipsMonitoring changes in accounting standards and assessing their impact on Central 1's operations and its financial statements.
Preparing Central 1's regulatory reports.
Improve the financial and regulatory reporting process to be more efficient and maintain strong controls to support CEO and CFO certification requirements.
Develop staff skillset related to technical knowledge, communication and leadership skills.Internal Control Environment
Monitor the daily operation of internal controls over financial and regulatory reporting. Recommending, developing, and implementing enhancements to Central 1's internal controls over financial and regulatory reporting.
Bachelor's degree in finance coupled with a Professional Accounting Designation
~10+ years in a financial and regulatory reporting role
~ Extensive experience being an integral part of a finance management team
~ Experience and knowledge of accounting best practices and relevant accounting standards (strong knowledge of IFRS is required)
~ Ability to perform advanced technical analysis in consideration of achieving group and corporate objectives in a complex reporting environment is required.
~ Leadership presence and credibility built with subordinates, peers, and senior leadership
~ Having strong skills in building consensus, resolving conflicts, and building teams.
The actual salary will vary depending on market conditions and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
