This role will start between 7:00 am and 10:00 am, and end in 8.5 hours accordingly

Principal Responsibilities:

As a Load Planner (Open Board Booking & Planning), your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Looking for open board loads, FTL, LTL, cross-border
  • Help resolve all issues that arise including, and not limited to, issues with drivers, customers, dispatchers, customs, and load booking
  • Monitor and direct the dispatch team, at all times, to improve performance.
  • Maximize load factor for optimal revenue per load
  • Fully planning and dispatching (outbound and inbound) Van/Reefer division trucks
  • Coordinating and managing driver runs and schedules.
  • Maintaining accurate data entry and records related to all planning on the "Planning Board."
  • Overseeing and reviewing Driver and Owner/Operator pay
  • Afterhours dispatch via telephone as needed.
  • Prepare reports as required by Management.
  • Direct and assist dispatch employees with issues, especially after hours.
  • Inputting checkpoints to monitor dispatch employees and ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinates dock with loading instructions and details in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Skills:


  • Must have at least 3 to 5 years of crossborder planning experience
  • Experience in Midwest, East and Texas zones
  • Be available after hours in case required
  • Fluent in English, bilingual is an asset.
  • Team player in a fastpaced environment
  • Strong ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate over the phone.
  • Be persuasive and energetic.
  • Flexible to cover other shifts as required
