Rotation/Shifts:

Days, 8 hour shifts. Evenings and weekends when required.


What you will do:


Under the direction of the Manager, the Coordinator works as a team with two other Coordinators to oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of operations of the Volunteer Resources Department corporately.

Coordinators are responsible for input on policy creation, marketing, public relations, budgeting, and carrying out duties related to corporate recognition of volunteers, maintenance of productive working relationships with community partners and fostering the development and growth of volunteer leadership opportunities.

The Coordinator also works in collaboration with department Advisors to ensure successful delivery of day-to-day operations.


What you will bring:


  • Community College Diploma in a relevant discipline;
  • Minimum of five (5) years of volunteer management experience;
  • Knowledge of trends in volunteer management particular to the healthcare environment;
  • Knowledge of the standards of practice for volunteer management as defined by the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement;
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills required to effectively interact with volunteers and staff at all levels;
  • Ability to work independently, as a team leader, and as part of a senior team;
  • Problem solving, negotiating, and decision making skills required to strategically plan and expedite outcomes, and to manage conflict;
  • Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership and coaching skills required to implement program/project management;
  • Ability to set priorities and deal effectively with conflicting demands;
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Proficiency in English and French oral expression (intermediate level) and comprehension (intermediate level).
Language proficiency requirements are based on the nature of the position and the level of interaction with French
- and English-speaking clients.


You will stand out with:


  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field;
  • Volunteer Administration Certificate from a recognized community college;
  • Sound knowledge of concepts of adult education, development of orientation and training modules for volunteers;
  • Experience with Better Impact software;
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Public Health, Human Rights, Privacy.
