Beyond is looking for MPD Field Technicians & Supervisors to join our Canadian Operations


MPD Technicians and Supervisors are responsible for providing field service installation and day-to-day operation and maintenance of Beyond's MPD equipment, as well as technical support to clients in the field.

MPD Field Technician Responsibilities

  • Field installation, operation, and maintenance of Beyond's MPD equipment on client field locations from preplanning and logistics to postwell reporting.
  • Monitoring the daytoday well drilling operations.
  • Rigup and operation of all Beyond MPD equipment on site and at shop facilities when required.
  • Liaise between the field crew, MPD Field Supervisor and MPD Lead Engineer to ensure efficient operation and operating procedures are properly conducted.
  • Ensure the operation parameters of the MPD program are followed at all times.
  • Completion of all site specific and safety related paperwork in accordance with company policy

MPD Field Supervisors are additionally responsible for overseeing the team of MPD Field Technicians in the field and relaying vital information regarding customer service requirements and expectations from the field location to Beyond MPD Engineering and Operations Teams.

  • Supervise all MPD field tests.
  • Recommend new approaches and specifications for equipment, software or procedure.
  • Assist with coordinating field crew rotational schedules, timesheets and field crew logistics.
  • Provide training and guidance to MPD Field Technicians.

Experience & Education:


  • Technically competent in MPD Operations and Equipment. Verified through a preemployment skills assessment.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Petroleum Engineering Technologist, Technical Diploma, or related field would be preferred.

Technicians: 3 to 5+ years Oilfield Experience, with at least 2 years specifically in MPD.

Supervisors: 5+ Years MPD/UBD Experience, with 2+ years of MPD Supervisory Experience.


Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships or expectations on site and explain/communicate Managed Pressure Drilling Technology.
  • Understanding of mechanics and hydraulics, and basic knowledge of electronics.
  • Familiar with drilling issues as they relate to drilling.
  • Knowledge of slinging and lifting overhead loads.
  • Understanding of process and information diagrams and flow systems.
  • Selfdirected and sound decision making skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Legally entitled in work in Canada.

Schedule/Working Conditions

  • Field Technicians and Supervisors work on a rotational/oncall schedule with typical shifts of 12 hours.
  • This position will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions and will be required to travel away from home in remote work locations.
