    Job Summary:

    We are looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Security Engineer.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Implement security solutions following best practices in systems engineering and network engineering.
    • Execute infrastructure projects and security roadmap from an engineering perspective.
    • Document standards, processes, workflows, and policies around applications and infrastructure.
    • Establish and maintain documentation and standards aligned with ITIL framework.
    • Develop and enforce security policies to protect data and systems.
    • Create and maintain automation for security provisioning and configuration management.
    • Write and follow SOPs for knowledge transfer and continuity.
    • Perform ongoing security tuning and process optimization.
    • Identify and execute remediation on security vulnerabilities and threats.
    • Research security shortcomings in our technology suite and work on risk mitigation.
    • Manage compliance and security initiatives as a project manager.
    • Complete security forms and questionnaires from customers and prospects.
    • Proactively manage and monitor infrastructure platforms, performing necessary maintenance.
    • Provide expert support for 2nd and/or 3rd level support.
    • Manage competing priorities and address critical issues promptly.
    • Participate in business continuity planning and disaster recovery testing.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve application and infrastructure issues.
    • Education and Experience

      • College diploma or university degree in computer science or information technology, or 5 years of relevant experience.
      • Industry certifications in VMWare, Network+, Security+, and ITIL.
      • Minimum 5 years of experience in VMware ESXi.
      • Minimum 7 years of experience in Microsoft environment.
      • Demonstrate technical design and implementation capabilities in an enterprise environment.
      • Minimum 3 years of experience with Dell and Cisco technologies.
      • Ability to manage systems in a data center setting.
      • Experience in a 24/7 uptime requirement environment.
      • Familiarity with HIPAA/PIPEDA compliant environment.
      • Familiarity with HITRUST and NIST frameworks.

      Required Skills/Abilities

      • Research independently on current security technologies and best practices.
      • Improve or implement processes.
      • Create thorough documentation.
      • Execute on all GRC related policy creation and evidence gathering.
      • Identify and remediate risks to the organization.
      • Manage projects, delivery, and timelines.
      • Understanding of project methodologies.

      • Ability to deliver solutions under deadline.
      • Passion for automation.
      • Strong ownership, customer service, and integrity.
      • Provide on-call and after-hours support.
      • Occasional lifting of computer equipment.
      • Occasional travel might be required.
