North Star Windows & Doors is seeking a highly motivated individual to supervise the activities of both extrusion and all night shift personnel in a safe, productive and cost-efficient manner.

The Night Shift Team Leader will be responsible for driving his/her team's success and meeting and exceeding productivity, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision of the extrusion department to ensure manpower is appropriately assigned and trained to meet productivity and quality standards.
Monitoring of equipment to ensure it is set up properly and maintained in proper working order.
Conducting monthly safety training / meetings / audits / inspection as required.
Conducting accident investigations and / or near misses as required.
Maintaining appropriate personnel productivity, quality and attendance records.
Maintaining and improving standards of housekeeping and maintenance within the department(s) under his / her control.
Initiating appropriate disciplinary action programs for employees under his / her direction as required.
The incumbent will primarily be repsonsible for leading the Extrusion deparmtent. However, he/she will be the manager on duty and will provide leadership, support, and address questions and concerns of all night shift staff in the plant.

Critical Skills

Exceptional leadership, communication skills and positive attitude.
Knowledge of the product under his / her supervision.
Knowledge of the equipment maintenance and set up under his / her control.
Ability to work shifts as required.
Excellent attendance record.
Ability to complete extra supervisory training as required, including Basic Supervisory Skills, the Occupational Health & Safety Act and basic First Aid.
Ability to deal with the pressures of meeting deadlines, maintaining productivity and quality standards.
