Job Description and Qualifications

  • Reporting to the Sarnia Site Manager, this position will support our Sarnia Liquid Hydrogen production Facility supplying customers throughout the Ontario and Northeastern US. For this position, the Site Supervisor will be based out of the Sarnia facility.

_RESPONSIBILITIES:

_


  • Deliver on all aspects of Safety plant/employee performance, safety initiatives, training, etc.
  • Supervise regular plant activities & special project of the daytoday operation
  • Ensure compliance with TSSA requirements.
  • Interact regularly and effectively with employees and internal customers. Build strong relationships with remote AP contacts and contractors.
  • Ensure production output to meet delivery of product to customers, and to meet standards of quality required by the customers.
  • Adhere to established operating budget which will enable the Corporation to set and maintain competitive and profitable prices.
  • Find opportunities to improve the efficiency of the plant so as to increase opportunities to supply additional product, and will work closely with the business area in this capacity.
  • Recruit, train and motivate staff of the caliber necessary to meet the present and future needs of the business.
  • Foster teamwork, and create an environment for inclusion. Develop staff in order to stay current on all training requirements
  • Ensure compliance and provide mandatory training regarding all activities according to APCL procedures & policies and governmental regulations (local, provincial, and federal) Including but not limited to (TSSA, TDG, MOECP, MOL).
  • Participate and give feedback to our local Joint Health and Safety Committee
  • Actively participate and encourage in productivity and cost reduction improvements, i.e. Team Development, KPI tracking, Productivity events
  • Participate in Internal and External Audits, ensuring follow up items are completed, documented, and communicated as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:


  • 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate.
  • 5+ years of industry experience in similar plants or process operations of similar complexity
  • Prior supervisory experience, an asset
  • Able to fulfill the regulatory designation of Chief Power Engineer (3rd Class)
  • Demonstrated commitment to EH&S with a track record of success on Safety, Environmental and Quali,ty
  • A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity/inclusion.
  • Ability to effectively interface with support groups and develop network of contacts

  • Strong organizational and decisionmaking skills
  • Able to shift and respond to changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must have strong computer skills, MS Office, Outlook. (SAP experience an asset)
