Description
The Drafter, Electrical will support the preparation of detailed schematics, bill of materials, and panel layout drawings. They will assist in the preparation of technical documents, support site visits, and participate in design reviews. The Drafter, Electrical will perform Quality Control functions and conduct product research to aid in equipment selection and specification. They will maintain drawing standards and follow company safety protocols.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the preparation of detailed schematics, bill of materials, and panel layout drawings, in accordance with design data and established drafting standards.
  • Support the preparation of specifications, manuals, maintenance plans and other technical documents.
  • Complete work within assigned scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Participate in design reviews with engineers and operational personnel.
  • Support Quality Control functions and check drawings done by other drafters and designers.
  • Organize and maintain symbol libraries, title blocks, reports and project templates.
  • Follow drawing standards and customized tools.
  • Assist in discussions regarding design and risk management of designs.
  • Conduct product research to aid in equipment selection and specification.

Education and Work Experience:


  • College diploma in electrical studies or equivalent working experience with design and drawing software
  • 13 years experience in electrical design

Knowledge Required:


  • Strong AuoCAD skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, SharePoint
  • Knowledge of copper and fiber optic computer networks, PLC systems, WiFi networks and power & control systems
  • Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines, and targets
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High level of attention to detail, neatness and accuracy
  • Ability to perform tasks with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Additional Information:
Travel as required to assist in site visits to inspect, take measurements and/or attend technical discussions as needed.
