    We're currently seeking candidates for the role below at our Toronto office:

    Library Technician

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide circulation services, fulfill document delivery requests, and manage inter-library loans
    • Maintain precise system records for patrons and materials in circulation within the library system
    • Handle acquisitions tasks, basic cataloging, processing, and serials management in collaboration with Technical Services team
    • Responsible for overseeing Toronto collection upkeep, including shelving, inventory, weeding, database maintenance, and more
    • Prepare daily news services and customized monitoring of legislative and case law updates
    • Offer guidance on utilizing the library's collection, Intranet resources, online catalog, and external databases
    • Conduct efficient legal and business research
    • Collaborate with colleagues in the Library and Information Services Department to enhance workflows, tools, methodologies, and efficiency
    • Take on special projects as assigned
    Requirements:

    • Library Technician Diploma
    • 2-4 years of experience in a legal environment preferred
    • Proficiency in various research tools including library systems, databases, and online resources
    • Skilled in utilizing automated library systems, especially circulation, acquisitions, and cataloging modules
    • Thorough understanding of library policies, procedures, and systems
    • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Knowledge of legal research methods and resources
    • Experience with databases like Westlaw Canada and Lexis Advance
    • Familiarity with legal systems and processes in Canada, the United States, and Commonwealth jurisdictions
    • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and adept at multitasking
    • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
    • Problem-solving approach with a focus on client service excellence
    • Willingness to learn and provide top-notch service to the firm's lawyers, students, and staff
    • Committed to continuous professional growth
    • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
    • French language skills are a plus
