    As a senior java developer , you will have the ability to empower and influence your team and through collaboration build applications that will create an amazing experience for our customers and associates.

    We practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions at our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

    What you'll do as a senior java developer:

  • Approach challenges and projects with a flexible, team-first mindset and will actively collaborate with engineers and product owners
  • Work in our agile environment, where you will have plenty of opportunities to drive the development specifications for complex applications, articulate engineering design patterns related to scale , performance, security and usability.
  • Take initiatives in proposing and implementing application changes to address business needs
  • Strengthen your leadership skills by giving technical direction to peers

    • What we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience with design and development of back-end applications demonstrating proficiency in Java based web technologies (J2EE, Spring Boot, Servlets/JSP, Hibernate)
  • Proven capabilities in software development best practices including use of design patterns, code review and unit testing
  • Experience as a mentor to junior developers and providing technical leadership for your team
  • Experience with microservices architecture
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as Oracle and MongoDB
  • Knowledge of Test & Build frameworks (xUnit, Ant/Maven/npm, etc)
  • Experience with data structures, algorithms, distributed systems
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science or related discipline/experience
