SJC Media is the largest producer of magazines in Canada, with award-winning titles such _as FASHION, Chatelaine, HELLO Canada, Maclean's, Today's Parent, Toronto Life, Ottawa Magazine_ and_ Canadian Business_.

Operational activities_**- Business partner to the leadership team of the Media/Publishing division

  • Financial planning & analysis including budgeting, forecasting, risk management and business modelling
  • Advance experience in a Shared Services environment and transfer pricing with multiple profit centres
  • Costing and pricing analysis
  • Development and enforcement of business & financial policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Integration and optimization of financial processes & procedures
  • Negotiate supplier and customer contracts

Financial activities_**- Oversight and management of divisional financial results

  • Annual audit coordination and support
  • Compliance with government agencies to ensure the company is in good standing
  • Cash and cashflow management and banking
  • Related party and intercompany transactions with affiliated companies
  • Mentorship of financial professionals
  • Additional analysis / support on an asneeded basis

_ And a bit about yourself:_:

  • CPA designation;
  • 10+ years of financial leadership in mid to large diversified organizations;
  • Management experience in multiple diversified businesses;
  • Business partner to operating stakeholders;
  • Fastpaced and results oriented in an entrepreneurial environment;
  • Quick learner with history of career progression.
  • Handson leader with strong analytical skills and experience;
  • Ability to articulate financial results and develop actionable strategies to address business challenges;
  • Media, technology and advertising industry experience is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills (GAAP, Finance, ERP, MS Excel)
  • Strong communication skills written (PowerPoint decks, memos, etc.) and verbal (presentations, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with working with many different departments
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines
