    Casual On Call Back-Up Secretary (4 positions)

    • Timmins Regional Office (Region Algonquin Blvd E, Unit 1, Timmins, ON, P4N 1B6
    • Dryden Regional Office (Region Queen St, Dryden, ON, P8N 1A7

    Reporting to:
    Supervisor, Regions 6 & 7

    Salary:
    $1,297.00 to $1,347.00 per week pro-rated to number of days worked (Range - Support)

    Working Conditions:
    As provided in the OPSSU/OPSEU/SEFPO Collective Agreement

    About OPSEU/SEFPO
    OPSEU/SEFPO represents approximately 180,000 members across Ontario. They are full- and part-time workers, young and old. They trace their ancestry to all parts of the globe as diverse a group as you could imagine.

    Our members work for the Ontario government, inside community colleges, for the LCBO, in the health care sector, and they are employed in a wide range of community agencies within the broader public sector.


    Principal Duties:
    Under the general direction of the Supervisor, provides secretarial and clerical support services to the Regional Office which include but are not limited to:

    • General office duties
    • Database input
    • Reception duties
    • Opening and tracking files
    • Dealing with general inquiries from members
    • Performs other related duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • One year Community College Certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Requires intermediate PC skills and knowledge of relevant software packages
    • Knowledge of principles of basic office management
    • Understanding of and commitment to labour movement and social democratic philosophy
    • Understanding of and commitment to the principles of antiracism, equity, diversity and inclusion
    • Requires tact and diplomacy skills
