    CanNor is hiring Economic Development Officers and also looking to build a list of qualified candidates for its office in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

    The salary range for the CO-02 position is $79, to $,.

    In addition, the selected candidates will also be entitled to:
    A northern allowance of approximately $18,/year to $26,/year*.
    Vacation travel assistance of approximately $1, (per adult and child over the age of 2) for employee and eligible dependents, including spouse/common-law partner, once per year*.

    Financial assistance is also available to cover the costs of relocation. Applicants may wish to review the Relocation Directive for information at an Economic Development Officer at CanNor, you would be part of a dynamic and hard-working team. You would provide support to important programs and projects, and engage key partners and stakeholders towards sustainable economic development in the region.

    Working within CanNors Operations sector, the selected candidates will have an opportunity to make a significant difference in the economic and social wellbeing of Indigenous peoples and northern residents; by working directly with communities and businesses, and witnessing first-hand the results of government investments.

    Work environment

    Established in August , Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) is the only federal department with an exclusive mandate for the North. CanNor's vision is to develop a strong, diversified, sustainable and dynamic economy for Northerners and Indigenous people, communities and businesses across Canada's three Territories.

    Intent of the process

    The intent of the selection process is to staff two permanent position Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.

    A pool (list) of qualified candidates may be established to fill future vacant positions with various tenures, various linguistic profiles and various security requirements within the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agencys offices (Iqaluit, Nunavut; Yellowknife, Northwest Territories; and Whitehorse, Yukon). For positions in Nunavut, Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement who are found qualified in this staffing process will be appointed ahead of other qualified applicants.

    EDUCATION:
    Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position OR through an alternative - an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, that is comparable to a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization relevant to the work to be performed.

    EXPERIENCE:
    E1: Experience planning, developing and implementing projects or programs.
    E2: Experience in providing advice or recommendations to management in support of program or project management.
    E3: Experience in analyzing information from multiple sources and preparing reports or presentations.
    E4: Experience in collaborating and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners.
    E5. Experience in the delivery of community or economic development programs involving multiple stakeholders
    E6. Experience in building and maintaining partnerships or stakeholder networks

    ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

    EXPERIENCE:
    AEX1. Experience in liaising with Indigenous organizations in Canada.
    AEX2. Experience working in Northern Communities preferably in Nunavut, the Yukon, or the Northwest Territories.
