    Description
    Provides high quality patient-centered care to patients and their families participating in the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation

    • Establishes priorities based on individual patients' needs and assigned activities, and adjusts these priorities to manage unanticipated events
    • Initiates effective communication and works in close co-operation with other members of the health care team to provide optimum patient care and a safe environment that respects the rights of the client
    • Develops and utilizes appropriate documentation skills to ensure continuity of patient care
    • Seeks direction, support and guidance from RN in accordance with the defined scope of practice
    • Diploma in Practical Nursing from an applicable college
    • Certification in ACLS or Coronary Care 1 is preferred
    *Ability to participate effectively and appropriately in an interprofessional health care team

    • Demonstrated initiative for continuing education and a willingness to participate in programs related to all aspects of nursing practice to maintain competency
