    Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a caring, passionate, and enthusiastic Behavioral Support Nurse – RPN (FT - 12 Month Contract) to join our amazing family. Reporting to the Director of Care and Assistant Director of Care, our BSO – RPN will provide behavioral support, dementia care knowledge, and mental health expertise to ensure the well-being of our residents.

    As a BSO – RPN, your responsibilities will include:

    • Delivering person-centered care to promote residents' abilities and self-esteem
    • Conducting assessments using various tools to identify behaviors and risks
    • Regulating care plans and mitigating risks through weekly rounds
    • Communicating with stakeholders to address risks
    • Participating in quality improvement activities and providing reports
    • Coaching and mentoring staff for collaboration in care
    • Collaborating with pharmacists and physicians on medication effects
    • Participating in staff development programs and ongoing training
    • Assisting in tasks related to home policies and the behavioral support project
    • Maintaining relationships with stakeholders and ensuring excellent customer service
    • Performing administrative duties and other tasks as needed

    The ideal candidate should have:

    • Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
    • Minimum two years of similar experience, preferably in long-term care
    • Degree in human psychology or behavioral sciences (an asset)
    • Bilingualism in English and French (an asset)
    • A caring disposition and a passion for senior care
    • Registration/eligibility with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario
    • Ability to work independently and in a team, with excellent communication skills
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a holistic approach
