Responsibilities

As our Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible to:

Create, prepare, and coordinate the preparation of full cost estimates for Electrical and Instrumentation construction projects
Review estimates with internal leaders and externally through client presentations.
Efficiently manage & control MOC requirements & changes in project scopes
Procure the materials to manage various electrical projects
Generate project budgets, manage change orders & close out projects when complete.
Review specifications and design drawings to determine the total scope of work to be performed, material requirements and associated costs to be included in the final estimate price
Examine and analyze estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness of work pricing
Prepare bid packages, conceptual estimates and analysis of potential subcontractor bids for projects
Determine cost recovery strategies
Maintain files of working documents to be used as backups for estimate figures and maintain current and accurate information on supplier prices, price lists, unit prices and quantity estimates
Collaborate with other estimators, project managers, procurement managers and contractors to determine costs related to Requests for Information and extra work orders.
Participate in project kickoff and project closeout meetings

Qualifications

Qualifications required:

Journeyman Electrician.
4+ years of Electrical Estimating experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience with AccuBid.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and Microsoft Project
Ability to read and interpret blue prints, including isometric drawings.
Ability to think critically and use inductive reasoning
Excellent organization and time management skills
Completion of Masters or postsecondary program such as Electrical Technologist Diploma, Engineer or equivalent certification would be an asset
