Parker Hannifin Canada is hiring a
permanent full-time
Fluid Power Technician at our Milton location. This is an hourly role working in a production/shop floor environment from Monday to Friday.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting Parker Canada Engineered Systems' product offering for Canadian customers.

Using the Parker Lean System and Win Strategy to ensure a safe work environment, maximize profitable growth, drive quality assembly, test, and troubleshooting primarily in the area of fluid power technologies.

Oversee day to day activities to meet daily and monthly key performance indicators.


Basic/Essential Duties
-
Assembly_

  • Perform bench work including assembly, disassembly, modification, cleaning, measuring, inspection and
    testing of hydraulic equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering or design drawings and schematics, job specifications, bill of material (BOM), etc., to assemble/perform testing of systems product on an asordered basis.

The engineered systems product line includes:

  • Manifolds
  • Valves
  • Pumps
  • Motors
  • Hydraulic Power Units
  • Snow & Ice Kits
  • Use shop equipment and machinery such as: hydraulic test stands, grinders, tube benders, and hand tools.
  • Perform hydraulic testing on systems product to ensure proper function/specification, pressure regulation, and absence of exterior leakage.

Required Skills:


  • Ability to understand and analyze mechanical systems with thorough understanding of fluid power principles (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical) and standards.
  • Prior experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic products, with the ability to troubleshoot.
  • Understand, read, and interpret manuals, parts lists, and engineered drawings mechanical, schematic, ISO, etc.
  • High mechanical aptitude to use and operate hand and air tools such as an overhead crane.

Qualifications (Education & Experience):


  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in Mechanics, Hydraulics, Millwright, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluid Power Training/Certification (completed or working towards).
  • Basic machining knowledge
  • 5+ years experience in the hydraulic industry, as a millwright, or equivalent.
  • Mechanical experience in an industrial setting; experience in hydraulics with pumps, motors, testing and setup.
  • Experience operating cranes to transport product with the use of slings is considered an asset.

  • Always maintain cleanliness of shop and work area to ensure the maintenance of a safe work environment, performing various cleaning and 5S+S duties as required.
  • Adhere to company safety/regulatory policies and procedures to ensure the safe work environment of themselves, fellow employees, customers, vendors, contractors and any other personnel who pass through the facility.
  • Ensure all safety rules and safe work procedures such as use of PPE, Lockout/Tagout, etc., are followed by themselves and by others working in and around the work cell.
  • Participate in team meetings and environment.
  • Prioritize your time to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support the Parker WIN Strategy.
