    Current Rate of Pay : Min $41.66- Max $ 52.07

    Current Shifts : Primarily days, 8 hours

    Position Summary:

    As an integral member of the inter-disciplinary team, primarily in the inpatient care areas (with someoutpatient exposure), the Registered Dietitian (RD) provides high quality, safe, effective and evidence-based care in partnership with patient and families, in accordance with the College of Dietitians of Ontario standards and GGH's mission, vision, values and policies.

    The RD provides consultation and independently screens patients for nutritional intervention, collects and interprets patient health data for in-depth assessment, completes ongoing monitoring and reassessment in collaboration with patients, caregivers, and the health care team. The RD establishes priorities, strategies and interventions in order to contribute to the individualized treatment program that allows the patient to achieve optimal outcomes. Additional responsibilities may include mentoring dietetic students, completing administrative responsibilities and participating in research or quality improvement initiatives.

    Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:

    • University Degree in Nutrition
    • Internship at an accredited program
    • Certification of Registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
    • Experience in Acute care
    • Experience managing Dysphagia, enteral and parenteral nutrition
    • Experience developing and implementing nutrition care plans for patients with acute and medically complex nutrition needs
    • Experience providing patient education
    • Experience mentoring an intern
    • Demonstrated commitment to best practice, professional standards and life-long learning
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
    • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
