About the role:


At Compass ELC you will work as a Communications Coordinator alongside some of the most passionate, caring, and dedicated people in the industry.

You will spend your time engaging, connecting, and learning alongside childcare professionals, community partners, and co-workers.

You will keep everyone connected within the organization, and tell stories beyond the walls of our organization in order to support growth, strengthen partnerships and highlight the essential role of early childhood education in our society.

Some accountabilities associated with the role include:

  • Provide organizational support to draft internal communications to 550+ staff and teams (staff newsletters, drafting and editing messages to flow relevant information to all internal stakeholders)
  • Provide organizational support to draft external communications to families, funders, partners, and community stakeholders (family newsletter, media releases, funder communications, marketing materials)
  • Oversight and strategy for social media
  • Creating content, scheduling, and reposting other's content for social media in consultation with teams and in alignment with our organizational values and values of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Basic analytics analysis to guide best practices
  • Marketing new spaces, programs, and employment opportunities as required (social media advertising, radio, etc.)
  • Managing marketing and design projects (overseeing the development of reports, infographics, and new print and marketing materials, in alignment with brand guidelines) in consultation with colleagues
  • Overseeing video creation projects in consultation with teams for marketing and social media
  • DaytoDay website management
  • Grant writing in consultation with colleagues
  • Supporting lead networks
  • Supporting emerging projects (internal and communitybased) based on organizational direction and personal passions

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in social sciences or business
  • 23 years' experience working in a communications position
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Solid understanding of effective marketing strategies
  • Leads with a Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion lens
