Key Responsibilities:


Duties include, but are not limited to:

Accounting:

  • Log collection activities regularly.
  • Respond to client inquiries and other invoicerelated issues.
  • Create new jobs/projects.
  • Refer problem accounts to Project Engineers (PE) and/or Managing Principal.
  • Prepare details and explanations of problems associated with the Allowance for Doubtful Accounts (AFDA) report on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in performing banking, data entry of deposits and filing of daily deposit records.
  • Assist in performing monthly deposit reconciliation and collection summary reports.
  • Assist with invoicing which will include:
  • Gathering and filing disbursement back-up.
  • Mailing and filing invoices.
  • Printing, sorting and distributing statements of account on a monthly basis.
  • Reconciling accounts.
  • Updating client information in the system, as necessary.

Administration:

  • Typing reports, specifications, and other correspondences.
  • Backup to Administrative Staff for Reception.
  • Assist Office Services Manager with special projects.

Professional Qualifications:


EDUCATION

  • Completion of accounting courses through a recognized university or college.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 12 years of related Accounts Receivable/Collections experience with preference given to those with project based accounting experience in A/E industry.
  • Familiarity with consulting engineering and architectural industry is an asset.

SKILLS

  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills with a working knowledge of computerized accounting software.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional organization and timemanagement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to selfmanage assignments from start to finish with mínimal oversight.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and calm composure.
  • Committed to providing exceptional client service.
  • Able to interact professionally with all levels of business personnel and build strong working relationships.
