We are currently looking for a
Project Planner in a permanent position to join the Eastern Clean Energy Initiative (ECEI) team.

Reporting to the
Project Controls Manager, you will be responsible for the preparation of an Integrated Project Plan covering project execution schedules for all aspects of the projects of the clean energy transition.


Key accountabilities include:


  • Develop the overall integrated baseline project schedule using contractors' schedules, establishing key linkages as well as inputs from the two connecting utilities.
  • Provide status of current schedule, analysis, and variance reports against baseline overall assessment of schedule achievement
  • Monitor critical milestones and report on the project Critical Path
  • Develop mitigation and contingency plans with Leads for activities as Project risk profile changes.
  • Monitor the schedule performance of key contractors and work with the Project Management Team (PMT) lead to develop corrective actions that align with the project cost performance.
  • Responsible for timely updating, gathering of key inputs from contractors, development of the commissioning (and startup/performance testing) plan as well as establishing relationships that promote cooperation between discipline leads and hosting update meetings where necessary.
  • Work with team members and applicable stakeholders to ensure cooperative development of any coordinated work plans and updates required for the project.
  • Maintain progress and performance reports, highlight slippages issues, and make recommendations for corrective action.
  • Maintain documents for the record of completion and sign off processes for each phase of schedule development.
  • Monitor all health, safety, security, and environmental programs to support the culture of a "Zero Incident Mindset."
  • Other duties as assigned.

Competencies, Education, and Experience:


  • A degree or technical diploma in Engineering.
  • Have a minimum of 710 years' experience in planning, scheduling and cost on major onshore/offshore electrical/industrial engineering and construction projects
  • Experience with Primavera software and Microsoft Office is considered an asset as well as PMWeb Project Management software.
  • Direct experience working on major projects from development through construction phases.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
