Hybrid Work Model

Job Description:


Position Summary


Reporting to Assent's General Counsel, the Legal Counsel will be responsible for reviewing, drafting and negotiating a diverse range of commercial agreements supporting Assent's Sales, Partnerships, Product and Procurement teams.

Additionally, the Legal Counsel will support the General Counsel in advising on marketing and employment matters as well as corporate risk management.


Key Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Reviewing, negotiating and drafting a wide variety of commercial contracts, including but not limited to, SaaS agreements, partnership and procurement related agreements, professional services agreements and software and intellectual property licensing agreements
  • Providing counsel on a diverse range of legal issues related to employment matters, RFP/RFIs, marketing and general corporate risk management and governance
  • Assist with other legal matters as assigned by Assent's General Counsel

Qualifications:


Your Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (or law society of another Canadian province)
  • At least three years of experience ideally in a law firm specializing in business law and/or as inhouse counsel in a technology company
  • Highly responsive and serviceoriented
  • Ability to assess legal, practical and business risks in a fastpaced environment and provide sound advice under tight deadlines
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills you are able to communicate and work effectively with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, including senior management
  • Strong work ethic, analytical and drafting skills
