OVERVIEW:

The Speech Associates is looking for a Communications Manager


At The Speech Associates, we are a team of 100 plus clinicians that provide clinical services throughout Southern Ontario including Ottawa.

We have been in service for 15 years and are proud of our growing team, including Registered Speech-Language Pathologists, Communicative Disorders Assistants and Board Certified Behaviour Analysts and ABA Therapists.

We hold affiliation with the University of Toronto as Clinical Educators, as well as recognized colleges such as St. Lawrence College, Durham College, and Lambton College's CDA Programs.

LOCATION - SCHEDULE:

Head office in Downtown Toronto

Monday to Thursday. Friday remote.


COMPENSATION:

$63,000.00-$70,000.00 per year based on experience + supplemental pay (Bonus)

Opportunity for Full Time salaried employment with Benefits and paid time off (post 6 months probationary contracted role)


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Background in medical field is an asset.


This role is responsible for staffing of all professionals and ensuring legal compliance of licensed and regulated SLP's as well as CDA's, BCBA's and ABA's and includes all front-end operational aspects such as: outreach, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, on-boarding of staff, and conducting weekly orientation.

Respond to communication-related issues in a timely manner.


The role would coordinate and oversee management of both Speech Language and ABA Departments to ensure support is provided to all clinical field staff as well as update company policies as per College legislation to improve staffing relations and efficiencies.


The role involves dealing with associated therapy billing inquiries, resolving customer and clinician escalations and/or complaints as well as scheduling conflicts, etc.


Goals and Objectives:


ENSURE:


  • Establish and maintain a positive work culture and promote clear communication between departments.
  • Lead of recruitment of BCBAs, ABAs, Speech-Language Pathologists and CDAs.
  • Effective onboarding and orientation of all new team members.
  • Highest quality of care is provided by all staff and that all policies of both The Company and The College are adhered to by clinical staff.
  • Retention of existing staff and their respective clients
  • Weekly audit feedback of all clinical staff providing productivity and performance reports
  • Establishment, updating, and refinement of existing policies and procedures across speech and ABA operations in accordance with respective college legislation.
  • All contractual obligations and policies are met, understood and signed by new staff.
  • Authorization through Director of Operations in dealing with "major" staffing and/or client issues.
  • Assist in creation and implementation of clinical initiatives as applicable) with management (i.e., Autism Awareness month, social medial announcements, monthly initiatives and create content, internet platforms, schedule posts and social media metrics.
  • Conduct selective review and exit meetings regarding performance and retention (on a weekly, biweekly, or monthly basis as required).
  • Provide disciplinary actions with resolution, if required.
  • Continued liaison and management of outreach and marketing efforts to build a strong client base (i.e., University of Toronto, Colleges, CAMH, OAP, Charities, Foundations).
  • Assess potential value of new initiatives and project operational needs to deliver on such initiatives.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:


  • Previous working experience as a Health Care or Communications Manager for at least 35 years.
  • Degree in Communications, or relevant health field work experience.
  • Background in mental health/behaviour analysis or health related field is an asset.
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written), presentation and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional grasp of the English Language as well as customer service / telephone etiquette.
  • Strong computer data entry skills.
  • Proficiency in performance marketing with proven demonstration across all digital channels.
  • Excellent understanding of social media platforms for businesses including LinkedIn, Facebook
  • Identify competitors and evaluate their strategies and positioning and devise counter strategies.
  • Proven sharp analytical and problemsolving skills with excellence at multitasking and problem solving in a highpace environment
