    Key Responsibilities

    • Generate DNA libraries using different molecular biology strategies for multispecific antibody research programs.
    • Design, clone, and purify DNA constructs for multiple projects.
    • Troubleshoot established PCR, cloning and DNA plasmid extractions workflows; suggest improvements to existing SOPs.
    • Prepare samples for sequencing and analyze data using bioinformatics software.
    • Provide and maintain documentation records of work in electronic notebooks and databases.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and operational lab.
    • Conduct all activities in accordance with scientific standards, OH&S regulations and established policies and practices.
    • Collaborate closely with internal and cross-teams to ensure the successful completion of projects.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience

    • Requires a BSc in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related field with 2-5 years of relevant experience or MSc degree and up to 2 years of experience.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Proficiency in cloning techniques (Golden Gate, Gibson assembly, etc).
    • Experience with diverse molecular biology techniques such as PCR, restriction enzyme digestion, bacterial transformation, DNA plasmid extractions or gel electrophoresis.
    • Experience with bioinformatic data analysis software such as Geneious.
    • Skilled in using aseptic techniques and handling mammalian cell lines.
    • Experience with Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) is an asset.
    • Competency with flow cytometry and cell sorting is highly desirable.
    • Experience in liquid handling equipment/automation HTP cloning is an asset.
    • Detail oriented with a problem-solving attitude.
    • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of cross-functional team.
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and effectively in a high paced, fast changing environment.

    The Canadian base salary range for this full time position is $60,000 - $92,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

    The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all Canadian locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by a variety of factors and the salary offered may vary depending on the successful candidate's location and qualifications (including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, education, training, skills, and experience).
