Delivery Driver, Stone Hearth Bakery

Stone Hearth Bakery has been in operation in the Metro area since 1982.

Stone Hearth is a division of MetroWorks Employment Association, a not-for-profit that provides employability skills training to those with barriers to employment.

We currently service a number of retail outlets and restaurants in the Halifax area. Our delivery drivers are key to the success of our bakery.

Drivers will provide excellent customer service with current customers, and will provide support with establishing new customers for the bakery.

Key responsibilities of this position are:

Maintain a high level of customer service. Provide customer follow-up as required. Respond to enquiries for product samples and quotes.
Review the daily customer orders for accuracy and quality of product.
Review invoices to ensure invoices matches the order.
Report any discrepancies in the orders to the Bakery Manager.
Do daily vehicle checks and report any deficiencies to the Bakery Manager.
Ensure vehicle maintenance is up to date and vehicles are in excellent working order.
Safely load product onto vehicles, ensuring load is stable and accessible.
Deliver product to customers following all traffic and safety procedures
Accept payment from cash customers, ensuring accuracy of payments.
Provide credit notes to customers as required
Ensure all invoices and credit notes are accurate and passed to the accounting department at the end of each shift
Attend staff meetings as required.
Must be willing to assist those who are interested in improving their employability skills.
