- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on a variety of agricultural equipment, including tractors, harvesters, and implements.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and inspections.
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify areas requiring repair or replacement.
- Use diagnostic tools and manuals to identify and resolve complex technical problems.
- Provide expert technical advice to customers and colleagues.
- Test equipment repairs to ensure proper functioning.
- Communicate with customers to understand equipment issues and explain necessary repairs.
- Provide estimated repair costs and timelines to customers.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service during interactions with customers.
- Be on call depending on crucial service calls and seasonal requirements.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of service and repair work, including parts used and hours worked.
- Complete service reports and provide documentation to customers as needed.
- Assist with warranty claims and paperwork.
- Communicate parts needed to the parts department in a timely manner.
- Monitor and report on parts usage and inventory levels.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries during the assembly process.
- Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Red Seal Journeyperson certification is preferred.
- Technical or vocational training in agricultural equipment repair or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Service Technician, preferably in the agricultural equipment industry.
- Strong knowledge of agricultural equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair manuals effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications for documentation and reporting.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Work primarily takes place in the dealership's service area, which may include both indoor and outdoor work.
- May involve occasional travel to customer locations for on-site repairs.
- Frequent interaction with staff and customers is a regular part of the role.
- Adherence to safety.
- Starting wage will range from $35-$45 per hour depending on education and experience levels.
- Full-time position working up to 40 hours per week. Shifts may include weekdays, weekends, and holidays depending on the operational requirements and needs of the Company. The specific workdays may vary depending on seasonal fluctuations and business demands.
