Accounting Analyst


We are seeking an
Accounting Analyst that will support the finance team, enabling effective decision-making at all levels to improve financial performance.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead, process, classify, report, research and analyze customer deductions (claims) as well as pursue recoveries where applicable.
  • Analyze, accrue and report on outbound freight as well as work with third party freight consolidator for accuracy, timeliness and continuous improvements.
  • Work with customer specific portals/forms to process disputed deductions.
  • Lead process improvements associated with systems, deductions, freight and other cost variance buckets.
  • Cross train and back up other team members in inventory, master data, variance, and spending analytics.
  • Work with contacts in various internal/external departments, provide analytics and support as required.
  • Lead internal deductions meetings.
  • Manage electronic storage of backup documentation required for support of the deduction.
  • Work closely with billings and supply chain to resolve any discrepancies and identify problems.
  • Support ERP implementation
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field required
  • Proven ability to learn, communicate and work effectively remotely
  • Working towards CPA designation would be an asset
  • 13 years' experience in finance or accounting
  • Experience with customer deductions resolution and analytics an asset
  • Experience with cost accounting (COGS) an asset
  • Experience in Manufacturing, CPG or business
- to-business environment an asset

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels within (and outside of) the organization and communicate effectively in a variety of situations
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team oriented environment
  • Proven track record of maintaining strong client relations
  • Experience with multiple systems and systems implementation (SAP) an asset.
