Why You?
We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative leader to join the Town of Innisfil and our Operations Team as Field Supervisor - Operations (Parks, Arenas & Community Spaces)

Directly in line with our

Innovative Innisfil 2030 and with a "Community First" approach, you will provide the highest excellence in customer service to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders and ensuring the areas and work projects comply with all applicable legislation and Town of Innisfil policies and procedures.

You will be responsible for the daily frontline supervision of the operations and maintenance of Town parks, as well as:


  • Coordinating and assigning staff duties and responsibilities, delegating tasks to staff to be completed on a daily basis delivered in a safe and operationally efficient manner; visiting work sites to connect with staff, updating work assignments and ensuring staff is working in a health and safetyminded manner.
  • Supervising service area staff including participating on hiring committees, staff training, development, performance management/review, coaching/mentoring, health and safety, collective agreement administration, discipline and grievance response.
  • Ensuring that all aspects of Health and Safety required by Town Policies and the Occupational Health and Safety are being actively addressed, monitored and complied with; communicating hazards within the workplaces and taking appropriate steps to address any concerns as they relate to worker and workplace health and safety.
  • Assisting with the development of long term inventory plans and lifecycle maintenance, repair, replacement and capital planning of parks, and facilities; developing and recommending for approval, projects, initiatives and community improvement plans consistent with the Town's strategic plan.


  • Job Requirements

  • Postsecondary degree or diploma in at least one of the following areas: Civil Engineering, Landscape Technology or Design/ Construction or Environmental Horticulture and Urban Forestry or suitable equivalent.
  • One or more of the following certifications or designations would be considered an asset: Certified Ice Technician (CIT), Certified Pool Operator (CPO), Landscape Pesticide Exterminators License, Membership in Ontario Parks Association (OPA) or Sports Turf Canada or suitable equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of municipal Operations experience (Parks, arenas and community spaces) along with three (3) years supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
  • Class DZ Driver's License in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
  • Availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events; and to respond to major emergencies as required.
