- Support the HR department's operations and goals by assisting with daily functions and responding to HR-related inquiries.
- Update and review HR programs, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial employment legislation.
- Support the recruitment/hiring process by posting ads, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, checking references and issuing employment contracts, etc.
- Coordinate effective onboarding/orientation of new employees, ensuring appropriate new hire documentation is up-to-date and available for managers and current information is provided to newly hired employees.
- Support with benefit programs (pension, health, ESPP) and claims management.
- Assist with employee relations practices across the organization and ensure organizational fairness & equity.
- Function as the liaison with Exchange Shared Services on HRIS and/or payroll issues, pay equity and quarterly federal reporting
- May perform other duties as assigned. You and your Experience:
- Post-Secondary education in Human Resources Management.
- Previous progressive HR experience in an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner role.
- CPHR Designation considered an asset.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with all levels of the organization.
- Strong work ethic with emphasis on confidentiality and professionalism.
- Exhibit discretion in handling confidential/sensitive information.
- Demonstrated excellent proficiency with Excel, and other MS Office programs.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
