CAREER COACH - EARLY LEARNING & CHILDCARE

FACULTY OF ACADEMIC STRATEGY & INTEGRATION


Career Coaches move the WILCEC vision of maximizing student empowerment through experience and education forward by working with industry to develop partnerships for Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) and supporting students before and during their WIL experiences.


HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Support students in their career journey through career coaching on resume writing, interview preparation, goal setting, and job searching.
  • Develop relationships with external industry partners to create opportunities for students to connect their academic experience to the real world through Work-Integrated Learning experiences.
  • Engage all stakeholders, including students, faculty, and employerpartners to develop mutually beneficial learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with WILCEC Leadership to start small and think big in order to find ways forward.
  • Develop students' workforce relevance through curriculum development, presentations, and workshops.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A diploma or degree in education, human resources, management or relevant field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in postsecondary environment or hiring and recruiting environment with knowledge of employability skills and career development techniques and strategies.
  • 1+ years of experience working with students with developmental disabilities.
  • Familiarity or a history with special education programs an asset.
  • Previous experience with providing individualized support for each student.
  • Previous experience teaching or creating and delivering workshops and presentations.
  • A willingness to support your team, employerpartners, and other stakeholders.

  • Bold curiosity and a willingness to learn new technology with previous experience with ESAT, Moodle, Articulate 360, Orbis, and Peoplesoft.
  • Previous experience working with immigrants, newcomers, and language learners.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to employerpartner sites around Edmonton.
  • Previous experience in early learning and childcare, nonprofits, or settlement agencies.

SALARY:
$2,047-$2,660 biweekly ($53,230 - $69,156 annually) reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. This is a term position with an end date of June 30, 2024 with immediate access to our great benefit program
