    Description

    Accounts Receivable Clerk

    Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Overseeing account collection process and engaging external agencies
    • Communicating with credit/collection agencies for solvency information
    • Collaborating with Sales to optimize collection strategies
    • Assessing the need for legal action on problematic accounts
    • Screening and responding to calls and correspondence, handling general inquiries, discussing issues with customers and internal departments
    • Generating accounts receivable reports and statistical reports (A/R Aging Reports)
    • Evaluating and recommending improvements to credit and collection policies (A/R Aging Reports)
    • Reviewing customer return processes and verifying credit applications
    • Processing and documenting cash sales, reconciling cash, and receipts
    • Auditing sales orders and invoices, communicating errors, and suggesting improvements
    • Processing payment applications in collaboration with the finance team (EFT, Cheques, and credit cards settlement report)
    • Assisting with credit approvals, invoice adjustments, and updates to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
    • Issuing manual Billing when necessary
    • Issuing Proforma invoices to customers
    • Approving Sales Orders from the Customer Experience Department
    • Managing customer inquiries about payments
    • Ensuring compliance with all financial policies and procedures
    • Providing backup support to other team members in their absence
    • Performing any other tasks related to the department as required

    Job Skills

    • Ability to meet deadlines

    • Strong organizational skills
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

    Qualifications and Experience

    • DEP or DEC in Accounting
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
    • Bilingual proficiency
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel)
    • Excellent communication skills

    Added Value

    • Experience with Oracle NetSuite or other ERP software
