Job Description

AECOM Canada Nuclear Services is looking for a Mechanical Engineer with Nuclear expertise for a full-time position in the GTA or Ottawa for a hybrid role.

Responsibilities

The Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all Engineering Activities are carried out in compliance with approved policies, standards, programs, and procedures aligned with the expectations of the Chief Nuclear Engineer and the ACNS Nuclear Quality System Manual.

Specific Responsibilities

Assist the Engineering Manager/Senior Engineering Manager by delivering Engineering Products, such as Designs, Analyses, and other Technical Products. The role includes:

Being trained, competent, and qualified for assigned tasks
Offering guidance and technical direction to Engineering staff identified by the Engineering Manager/Senior Engineering Manager
Investigating and resolving technical issues throughout project phases
Preparing, reviewing, verifying, or certifying Engineering Products like Technical Specifications, Design Drawings, Bills of Material, Commissioning Specifications, and Design Reports
Maintaining expertise in relevant Codes, Standards, and Acts in the Mechanical discipline

Essential Skills and Knowledge

The necessary skills and knowledge for this role are typically gained through 7-15 years of experience in a Design Engineering setting. The individual should have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with Management at all levels.

Key Qualifications:

Thorough understanding of Nuclear Power Plant Operation
Familiarity with Canadian Regulatory Environment related to Power Plant Operation
Practical application of engineering principles in their discipline

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Engineering degree and Professional Engineer designation with +6 Years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong technical knowledge of Nuclear Power Plant Operation
Understanding of Canadian Regulatory Environment in Power Plant Operation
Practical application of engineering principles in discipline
