Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining the various Georgian Stores locations at the Barrie campus and shipping / receiving area which includes responsibility for all goods shipped, received and warehoused at Georgian Stores.


Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Receiving duties including backup for fulltime clerk, running price change reports, receiving all incoming shipments, verifying receipt of goods using the WinPrism database, advising buyers of any shipment discrepancies, forwarding completed receiving paperwork to Accounts Payable
  • Placing all goods received in storage or retail location which may include using manual or electrical lifting equipment
  • Maintaining and filing of shipping documents
  • Shipping duties which include preparing shipments and documents for goods going to other Georgian campuses, customers and or returns to suppliers
  • Processing web orders for shipment and preparing orders and shipments with documents for goods to be shipped to all campuses, customers, or returns to suppliers.
  • Using the courier computer system to process daily shipments of goods, running daily manifest report and filing by date and arranging large skid pickups with transport companies
  • Preparing inventory transfers in the database for shipments to Orillia and Owen Sound and delivering goods throughout the Barrie Campus as required
  • Pricing and coding all stock received in accordance to the purchase orders using the database and inputting UPC barcodes in order to scan at POS register
  • Recording serial numbers and maintaining the Courier Shipping System
  • Providing assistance with shelving and stocking goods
  • Maintaining the warehouse in a clean and safe condition, stocking warehouse with overflow of goods and retrieving goods from the warehouse to stock the store as required
  • Assisting with annual locker contents removal / storage and making kits for fall semester if needed
  • Assisting with fulfillment duties including picking, packing, processing of online orders
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Successfully completed a secondary school diploma
  • Six months experience working in a warehouse providing shipping / receiving and stocking duties in a computerized environment
  • Experience inputting data using computerized programs for shipping / receiving, pricing / barcoding and running reports
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining a warehouse in a clean and safe manner
  • Proven ability to organize a large volume of stock in an efficient manner
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to ensure shipping documents are maintained and filed efficiently
  • Experience using manual and electronic lifting equipment
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the job (i.e. lifting (up to 50 lbs.), twisting, pushing, etc.)
  • Knowledge of WinPrism and Courier Shipping System is an asset
