    Description

    About the role

    ·Provides leadership and technical oversight in land use strategy, planning and policy.

    ·Prepares socio-economic related materials, including baseline reports, effects assessments and other similar types of deliverables.

    ·Writes technical reports, analyses and interprets data.

    ·Prepares written deliverables in accordance with provincial, territorial and/or federal regulatory requirements, best practices, and/or any preferences or protocols identified by respective Indigenous nations.

    ·Manages the coordination, organization, and delivery of socio-cultural research programs and related community engagement.

    ·Participates in the development of socio-economic mitigation and enhancement measures and management plans.

    ·Contributes to proposal writing.

    Qualifications

    About you

    ·Degree in social sciences, natural resource management, geography, or related field of study.

    ·A MCIP or RPP designation or eligible to apply.

    ·At least 5 years of relevant experience in socio-economic effects assessments and/or land use assessments in an environmental consulting practice.

    ·Minimum 5 years of experience in land use planning with an environmental consulting firm and/or regulator

    ·Knowledge of socio-economic assessments, engagement, and master planning.

    ·Understanding of and demonstrated aptitude for analyzing complex legal and regulatory documents, including official plans, zoning bylaws, growth plans and other applicable policy documents.

    ·Solid understanding of provincial and federal environmental assessment legislation, regulations, and guidelines in a Canadian context.

    ·Demonstrated research, analysis, and technical writing skills, including gathering and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data.

    ·Ability to support and lead business development activities through early client interaction, develop scopes of work and grow a client network

    ·Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.

    ·Experience working with Indigenous Nations in western Canada and/or communities across Canada.

    ·Ability to travel as required.

    Salary range: $75,000 - $100,000

    Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
