Our Business Analyst participates in the success of projects of all sizes. They will work with project teams to identify and document requirements for new/existing systems and processes.

Our Business Analyst will act as a generalist who understands processes and systems throughout the organization and how they interact with each other.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists business teams in their development of business cases and project charters to help articulate quantifiable benefit realization/ROI.
  • Applies the principles of business analysis in the planning and requirement gathering for business environments, operations, processes, and practices.
  • Acts as a liaison between IT and the select Business Units. This may also extend to consultants/vendors engaged by the Project Management Office.
  • Understands and documents the asis process.
  • Envisions and documents the tobe process.
  • Understanding of alignment and improvement of business processes to achieve enterprise goals.
  • Ability to restructure and redesign business processes. Applies business analysis in reengineering, requirements gathering, and test planning for business environments, operations, processes, and practices.
  • Participates in systems analysis and requirements definition for new systems and/or enhancements to existing systems.
  • Leads testing activities; responsible for the development of the Test Strategy, Test Plan and providing guidance to the testers; keeps Project Manager updated should any risks/issues arise.
  • Designs and manages testing efforts in ticket management software, providing reports to the Project Manager, as necessary.
  • Participates in defect management during the warranty period following golive.
  • Participates in the coordination, communication, implementation and rollout of system enhancements.
  • Assists Learning & Development team with training support, as required
  • Identifies and documents business requirements, workflows and other associated project documentations, as required.
  • Identifies opportunities for process efficiency throughout the organization and recommends process changes.
  • Verifies that project deliverables meet the requirements.
  • Provides status of BA activities to Project Manager for status reports.
  • Suggests improvements to PMO processes and documentation.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service, committed to responding to, anticipating, and addressing customer needs, for both internal and external customers.
  • Postsecondary degree, certificate, or diploma in Commerce, Business Administration, Business Analyst or equivalent. An equivalent combination of education and 23 years' experience in the insurance industry will be considered.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, LucidChart, Jira and other businessrelated tools.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels within the organization in a team environment.
  • Strong communication, report writing and presentation skills.
  • Good technical writing abilities
  • Above average quantitative methods and mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to work in an unstructured env
