Solution Architect – Microsoft Business Applications

Location: Remote (Open to Residents of US & Canada)

The Position

Solution Architects, specializing in Microsoft business applications, excel at operational efficiency and leverage current and emerging technologies to design innovative solutions. As a client-facing role key to overall project success, it requires the aptitude to comprehend complex business transactions, propose alternative solutions and translate unique requirements into functional and technical design documents, while building trust and rapport with stakeholders at all levels.

The Solution Architect concentrates on deployment of Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions – specifically the ERP solutions, Finance & Supply Chain Management (formerly AX and Axapta) and Business Central (formerly NAV and Navision) and customer relationship product Customer Engagement and Power Platform. Equipped with deep subject matter expertise, the Architect is pivotal to the accurate and complete transfer of knowledge from presales discussions to solution design, implementation and successful go live.

Key Areas of Responsibility

Use problem-solving skills to design, develop, integrate, and rollout successful Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions for clients.
Establish position of trust with sales team and collaborate on sales efforts including estimates, statements of work, data migrations and integrations to external systems as required.
Execute architectural services in an advisory capacity in addition to presales efforts, RFP responses and proof of concept engagements.
Lead Advanced Project discovery and analysis phases of projects as needed.
Guide development resources through larger engagements and ensure that the quality and functionality of code delivered matches the design.
Create and / or review functional and technical design documents for accuracy and appropriate level of effort.
Assist in problem solving complex support cases as needed.
Stay up to date with Microsoft developments by testing new updates, attending technical conferences & actively participating in partner previews.
Be aware and utilize 3 rd party / ISV products as needed.
Participate in team building and team development activities.

Desired Skills & Competencies

5+ years hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics D365 Finance & Supply Chain Management, F&O, AX (desired).
5+ years hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics D365 Customer Engagement (desired).
5+ years hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics D365 Business Central (desired).
5+ years' experience in analyzing business processes & guiding clients through software selection and discovery processes.
3 – 5 years technical software experience preferred with development background and knowledge of MS SQL, X++, Morphx, .Net, Power Platform, Web Services, API's.
3 – 5 years Data modeling and analysis experience, MS SQL, Dataverse.
2+ years of experience providing technical and functional QA / mentoring.
4-year degree in Business, Accounting, MIS or equivalent (desired).
Expert in D365 Finance & Supply Chain Management; functional knowledge of the Finance, Trade and Logistics, Projects, and Production modules; other module knowledge such as Service, MRP Shop Floor and Retail preferred.
Expert D365 Customer Engagement; functional knowledge of the Sales, Customer Service, Project Operations modules; other module knowledge such as Field Service, Marketing preferred.
Expert Power Platform; functional knowledge of Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agent would be an asset.
Integration and migration experience with D365 Finance & Supply Chain Management.
Communication and leadership skills that assist with mentoring developers, functional and business resources.
Participation in team building and team development activities.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Detail oriented, strong analytical, numerical, planning and reasoning abilities.
Professional, ethical, and respectful with entrepreneurial spirit.
Avid learner, growth mindset with focus on continuous upskilling.
Willing and able to travel; valid passport required.
Must be fluent in English – both verbal and written.
