About The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for creating accurate patterns for prototypes and revisions for the mass production of various furniture products.
You will also be responsible to make pattern templates, ensuring the accuracy of dimensions and fitness You will work closely with cross-functional teams, reporting to the Director of Product Engineering and the Upholstery Manager.
Job Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Manually create patterns for the commercialization of consumer products.
- Translate design sketches and/or samples into pattern creation or manipulation
- Make templates and simple jigs for sewing operations production.
- Assist in cutting fabrics, accessories, and materials for product development.
- Upholstery of prototypes and design review samples.
- Design ideal production markers to optimize têxtile yields.
- Knowledgeable in pattern drafting and grading.
- Troubleshooting product development and design.
Required Qualifications Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- High school diploma or Certificate in technical pattern making an asset.
- 3+ years of experience, in pattern making or tailoring, preferably in the manufacturing or office furniture industry.
- Skilled upholsterer and experience with upholstery pattern making.
- Operational understanding of furniture construction, fabrics, and manufacturing processes.
- Gerber, Lectra, or any equivalent pattern software, 3D software knowledge is a bonus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data from various sources.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with crossfunctional teams.
