The Role:
The Forklift Operator is responsible to operate the site machinery and loads while maintaining safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklift and follows the established standard practice for securing loads, winching, hoisting and rigging material.
- Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment safely at all times, and report vehicle and equipment maintenance requirements to Installation Supervisor.
- Review schedule and daily workflow with Installation Supervisor to understand job requirements for materials installation.
- Notify the Installation Supervisor of unanticipated field changes and suggest possible alternatives.
- Participate in weekly toolbox safety meetings and document equipment safety inspection audits.
- Keeping the equipment clean and in good shape at all times.
- Working safely with the ground crew, supporting, and mentoring them when applicable.
- Document deficiencies in safety practices/equipment to the Installation Supervisor.
- Perform other additional duties as required.
You will bring:
- Valid G driver's license required, DZ license is an asset.
- Certified for Class 7 machinery with proven experience.
- Ability to safely operate machinery with a steady pace, awareness of surroundings and with sound judgement
- Exceptional teamwork and problemsolving skills.
- Energetic, dependable, reliable, punctual, and flexible
- Ability to kneel, bend, reach, twist, sit, walk, climb and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs.
- Ability to work well in a teamoriented environment as well as independently.
- Able to work in an outdoor environment and some flexibility required with working hours.
