Pride Group Logistics International Ltd is a dynamic and growing organization, we are currently seeking an
Assistant Logistics Manager to join our team

The
Assistant Logistics Manager will manage & develop day-to-day operations in Pride Group Logistics International ,Dorval ,Qc terminal. They will oversee the logistics team and ensure that margins can be maximized by reducing carrier challenges. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for finding the carriers to move our clients' freight.

They will build and develop carrier relationships and negotiate competitive carrier rates while maintaining company revenue and margin goals. This role will ensure that the movement of freight will exceed our client's expectations. The manager will be the last line of defense for all roles below them for escalation, troubleshooting and coverage.


They will focus on monitoring employees' work and stepping in when needed to assist with bookings shippments,prevent and resolve issues.


Permanent full-time position
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Salary (Depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:


  • Building strong longlasting relationships with our customers, carriers, and agents.
  • Ensuring we are delivering fast communication to our customers
  • Notifying customers in advance of any delays and coming up with creative solutions
  • Track loads to ensure ontime pick up and delivery requirements are met or exceeded
  • Collaborate and offer assistances to other team members in keeping loads on track
  • Assist in troubleshooting carrier specific issues from the point of booking until completion
  • Assist in resolving service failures and communicate with team member and team leader
  • Provide and support tracking requirements for clients
  • Contact and maintain good relationships with carriers and agents
  • Ensure all carriers and agents are communicated with professionalism
  • Ensure all necessary load information and updates are delivered to applicable team members
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Director of Operations
  • Deliver the optimal logístical solutions for customers
  • Manages all logistics carriers and international agents for both pricing negotiations for inland, ocean and air rates.
  • Research and maintain knowledge on current market conditions, pricing, regulations, and the environmental climate
  • Train and coach employees to increase productivity, maintain adherence to corporate policies & procedures and consistent quality of work

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT PROFILE

  • A minimum of 35 years of experience in a similar role Transport Broker/Freight Forwarding (inland, air and ocean)
  • Will report directly to the Director of Operations and Freight Forwarding
  • Responsible to source and negotiate carrier capacity to meet company needs and commitments.
  • To respond to, address, and resolve all service and operational issues in a clear, focused, and timely manner
  • Continuous improvement on processes, systems, and methods so that the company can improve service and costs
  • Manages all logistics carriers for both scheduling and pricing negotiations.
  • Manages import and export compliance of all ocean and air shipment.
  • Identifies and champions improvements to processes and logistics requirements.
  • Bilingualism in English and French
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written in both English and French (other languages an asset)
  • Strong problemsolving skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to get things done through others and people development.
