Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs preventative maintenance, repairs, retrofits or other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Manager in a safe manner within shop practices and hotel standards
Monitors and operates all building systems
Performs painting, floor stripping, waxing, carpeting, drywall and wallpaper repair work as required
Assists coworkers as required
Responds to all guest concerns in a professional manner
Maintains exterior grounds and safe passageways for all guests and staff
Keep the Maintenance Manager informed of all event and requirements as they pertain to the Engineering Department
Ensures that all departmental reports (re: maintenance log book and round sheets) are completed punctually and accurately
Attends all specified training meetings and all departmental meetings.
Any other special duties or work outside of the regular routines but within the overall scope of the position.
Adheres to hotel policies and procedures
Maintains safe working conditions within department and hotel
Ensures that all safety rules and procedures are being followed
Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures
Takes corrective action where required to improve safety of work areas
Is aware of and compliant with the latest Health & Safety policy
Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance
Ability to work a variety of shifts; days, evenings, weekends and holiday
Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position

Job Requirements

Preferred Education & Qualifications:

Knowledge of WHMIS is an asset
Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electric preferred.
Experience working in the Hospitality Industry is ideal.
Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
Personable, Energetic, and have an ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Must be willing and able to perform duties of a physical nature

- often required to push, pull and lift heavy items (greater than 20kg)

Pay:
$20.60-$23.70 per hour
