Project Coordinator:

Vancouver Shipyard's (VSY) Contracts and Commercial Department is looking for a dedicated Project Coordinator.

The Project Coordinator will work in a team environment and support the production and delivery of assignments covering a wide breadth of contractual and commercial matters, including insurance policy management, risk management, claims management, contractual and security & control goods compliance.


What you'll do

  • Maintain, upload and update insurance records and certificates on insurance database.
  • Coordinate receipt and distribution of prime contract insurance certificates as required.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of meetings / visits (brokers, underwriters, surveyors).
  • Assist in the preparation of risk register updates and risk reporting to internal & external stakeholders.
  • Assist in contractual and regulatory compliance audits.
  • Provide general assistance in the preparation of claims.
  • Keep immediate supervisor and the business area appraised of issues identified.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the processes used by the Company to monitor its daytoday affairs and follow those processes (e.g. contract approval, timesheet recording, performance reporting).
  • Other assignments as required from time to time.

What you'll bring

  • University degree, preferably in business or law.
  • Related insurance industry or government experience.
  • Experience working in a customerfocused environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language, strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to work independently and in a team setting, to contribute optimally on crossfunctional teams.
  • Strong digital literacy (e.g., proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc.)
  • Strong communication, diplomacy, interpersonal and organization skills.
  • Ability to manage their time optimally.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the selfconfidence to try new things.
  • Must be able to secure a Canadian Government (CISD) Personal Security Clearance and controlled goods registration.
