Project Manager, Occupational Hygiene - Full-time (Halifax, Nova Scotia)

Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for related commercial and residential claims including, but not limited to: designated substance survey; asbestos assessment and abatement; mold and water damage assessment and abatement, interior air quality assessments. and Illicit substance testing and clandestine lab remediation
  • Technical report writing
  • Communication and relationship development with clients
  • Establishment and adherence to budgets and timelines
  • Risk assessment and problem solving
  • Coordination and planning of medium to large scale abatement projects alongside contractors and stakeholders
  • Work closely with the Sales leadership to develop and maintain positive relationships with of key customers/clients in appropriate targeted markets
  • Work closely with the Sales leadership to identify and develop new markets and relationships with of customers/clients
  • Participate in client presentations and promotional activities
  • Develop and maintain industry leading services levels.
  • Technical Expertise:_
  • Project management experience on medium to large size claims, including budgeting, invoicing, reporting and ongoing client communication.
  • Knowledge of occupational hygiene principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of provincial regulations regarding hazardous materials, designated substances and workplace safety.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to a nontechnical audience.
  • Business Development:_
  • Work with the Business Development team to develop a sales strategy and execute the strategy.
  • Work with the hygiene team to develop and implement a plan to build and expand services.
  • Build, develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Involvement with crossselling of other services.
  • Financial Responsibility:_
  • Responsible for billing targets as per company standards.
  • Oversee invoicing is appropriate to the services provided to the clients.
  • Oversee revenue contributions and margins.
  • Achieve revenue and profit goals.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Successful and proven project management experience in relevant industry (hygiene, restoration, technical consulting)
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and collaboration software
  • University degree or college diploma in related field.
  • Professional designation (ROH, ROHt or CIH) is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong written and oral communication in English; French would be an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player and results oriented.

Environment/Working Conditions:

  • Based out of Halifax.
  • Ability to travel across Atlantic Canada when required.
