The Canadian Black Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to elevating the economic development of the Black Business Community.

We are committed to conducting the required collaboration and research that delivers evidence-based solutions that improve lives and strengthen economic growth within the Black Community in Canada and internationally.

Summary
This is a full-time position. You shall assume the duties as outlined in the enclosed job description.

Guided by the CBCC's policies, mission, mandate, and the Eco-system Fund Contribution Agreement, you shall provide ongoing effective Events Coordination and Support duties to the Marketing Department and the Ecosystem Project.

We are looking for an SEO Senior Copywriter to assist our creative marketing content efforts.

Ultimately, you will create informative and engaging content for our audiences about our products and services.

Responsibilities

Research industryrelated topics and identify gaps in our content
Write original copy for ads and social networks
Prepare and publish articles that describe our company and products
Edit and factcheck pieces of content generated by colleagues (e.g. Junior Copywriters)
Use SEO practices to optimize articles and increase visibility
Liaise with Designers to enrich the text with visual aids, like images and charts
Create and oversee reports on content (e.g. weekly or monthly)
Interview clients, industry experts and internal teams
Monitor metrics related to our content, like web traffic and conversion rates
Ensure all content is uptodate

Requirements and skills

Proven work experience as a Senior Copywriter or similar role
Portfolio of published articles
Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail
Handson experience with Content Management Systems (e.g. WordPress)
An ability to write creative copy both for large pieces of content (e.g. product descriptions) and more minor texts (e.g. social media posts)
Solid timemanagement skills
Basic keyword search knowledge
BSc in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a relevant field

Compensation/Benefits

You shall be compensated up to
$30/hour (skill level and experience to be determined).Federal and provincial government guidelines will deduct all applicable taxes.

Benefits:

The Chamber will put a company benefits package within three months, which employees can opt into. The employee benefits package will be paid 80% by the employer and 20% by the employee.

Work Location:
North York Office - hybrid

Work Hours:
The Standard office hours for the CBCC are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EDT. Overtime may be required and will be compensated as time in lieu.
