Manager, Accounting (Ocean Transportation)

(23-05). This temporary position is based in Saskatoon and is expected to last approximately 12-18 months.

The opportunity

  • Managing accounting for ocean transportation including cash flow management, accounts payable, monthly cost reporting and journal entries.
  • Overseeing preparation of the ocean transportation budgets and forecasting ocean freight costs.
  • Providing financial reports and analysis to aid commercial and operational decision making.
  • Being a trusted business partner to the Ocean Transportation team and conducting contract reviews and market performance reviews.
  • Fostering and developing effective working relationships and high performance between team members by providing consistent communication, feedback, coaching, mentoring and motivation to employees
  • Ensuring ocean freight costs are reported in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

You

have

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Minimum five to seven years of experience in a financial position including a minimum of two years supervisory experience.
  • A Chartered Professional Accountant designation is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

You bring

  • Strong organizational, analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adept computer skills to maintain databases and spreadsheets to produce accurate reports and analyze large quantities of data.
