The Position:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with managers in workforce planning, to understand short term and longterm hiring needs.
  • Work with the Talent Acquisition team to execute recruitment requirements
  • Provide support to managers with coaching and disciplining employees and all employee relations needs, advising on employment standards requirements, risk, and best practices.
  • Ensure continuous improvement and management of the onboarding process and systems.
  • Prepare all paperwork related to employee lifecycle events such as employment agreements, increases, reviews, and terminations.
  • Support and build upon training and development initiatives, in collaboration with T&D Coach.
  • Ensure timely execution and processing of competency reviews and performance review cycles.
  • Report on key metrics.
  • Actively promote and manage the company's rewards and recognition programs.
  • Manage risk related to employees and advise managers accordingly.
  • Manage wellness initiatives, promote to employees, and provide support.
  • Monitor and develop the structure of compensation plans for the company, as requested.
  • Access feedback from employees by means of engagement surveys, program reviews and exit surveys, and provide summary and suggestions to P&C Manager.
  • Provide backup support to payroll and benefits, as required.
  • Review and development of policies and supporting documents, as required.
  • Streamline all human resource processes and systems, in collaboration with P&C team.
  • Determine ways to improve retention and to build upon a positive employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle.

Key Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven ability to promote a positive workplace culture that exemplifies the core values of the company, and values diversity. Some experience in training delivery or formal training within Equality Diversity and Inclusion is considered an asset.
  • Problem solving mindset, and strategic thinker with the ability to seek out and implement efficient ways of working.
  • Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills, with effective people skills.
  • Welldeveloped leadership skills, with an aptitude for advising and providing recommendations with internal clients at all levels.
  • Experience with HR policy and process development and enhancement.
  • Experience with metrics and reporting such as OKRs, KPIs.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing organizational priorities and needs.
  • Working knowledge of current legislation including Employment Standards and Human Rights laws, stays informed and up to date.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient working with computers and MS Office/Mac (Word, Outlook, Excel,Teams).

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the management of full HR life cycle (hiring, performance management, benefits, compensation)
  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management
  • Five years or more in progressive HR roles, with a proven experience in HR Business Partner capability

Other Relevant Information

  • Must be resident in Canada and legally eligible to work
  • This role is primarily remote (home office based), which some possible in person meetings
  • Some occasional travel to various job sites may be required.
  • This role supports Field Based Construction Personnel, Supervisors and Managers
